Adding a sub-account to a dual membership

When a new dual application is submitted, their co-applicant should be automatically added as a user, and so you should automatically be able to link them to the main account by doing the following…

To add a sub-account:

  1. Navigate to the main member’s account
  2. Scroll towards the bottom and ensure that the checkbox next to “Corporate Account?” is active. If not, check the box and then make the max sub accounts 1
  3. Click save
  4. Scroll back down to where “Corporate Account?” is. You should now see options to manage sub accounts, import sub accounts and export sub accounts. Click manage sub accounts
  5. You will then be brought to their member management page (you might see your name on the top of the page, that is fine and normal). Click “ADD SUB ACCOUNT.” You will see three options here.
    1. The first option asks you to enter the co-applicant’s email that was used on the application. This is assuming that the system worked and they are already a user. The email should auto-populate when you start typing it. Once selected, click save.
    2. The second option is if they don’t exist in the system yet. An example where this might be useful is if an old spousal member didn’t have their spouse in their Wild Apricot account, therefore it wasn’t transferred over. This adds a new user to the system and connects the two. If they are already in the system you will get an error.
    3. Signup URL. This is really for existing members who are looking to add someone to their membership. If they share that URL with their new co-member then they can fill it out and be automatically added to their account. They will of course still need to be voted in.

If “send NEW members the welcome email” is checked then they will get the acceptance email that we normally send when members are approved.

As admins, we have the ability to remove sub-accounts. To do that, simply click remove. They will still exist in our system.

How can we help?
